Reverse Funnel System Review - The Hare and The Tortoise
My wife is running in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon this coming weekend. To keep her company as she trained, I would often accompany her on some of her runs along the West Side Highway.
For those of you who don't know, a half marathon is 13.1 miles (slightly over 21 kilometers). And I am definitely not built for long-distance running:

In fact, before I began running with my wife (who ran cross-country in high school), the longest I've ever run was twenty minutes at a fast pace on the treadmill (probably three miles or so).
Then one day (many moons ago) I joined her for a ten-mile run. I thought I could be the hare - just jump in and do the ten-mile run without putting in my dues.
It was not fun.
I ended up throwing out my back, and was essentially crippled and bed-ridden for a couple days.
Now, after many months of regular training (like the tortoise, slow and steady), I can run seven miles rather easily.
What does any of this have to do with the Reverse Funnel System?
There are some who will join our team and immediately see fantastic results.
Others will join our team and not see great results until a few weeks later.
That might be disheartening at first (I know I felt rather puny when even my 8.2 pound Maltese could keep up on our long runs).
But those who keep at it, who keep listening in on the training calls and who follow and absorb the information in our private members area... will see success.
And that success will feel really good.
